What elements push a game beyond mere goodness and into greatness? To this author, PC games are best when they deliver a transcendent gaming experience that is possible only with the aid of a personal computer: They don't simulate board or card games, reproduce real-world sports, or try to approximate movies. They are an art form unto themselves. To be considered, a game must have achieved most of its prominence on a PC platform. (This explains why Tetris, for example, didn't make the cut: It was clearly the Nintendo Game Boy's killer app). I defined a "PC" as any consumer computer that has a keyboard the user can program with arbitrary code--not just a PC of the IBM variety. Sony gave the world a glimpse of its newest gaming console last February. It revealed some of the parts of the unit including the handheld and the box. Soon after, there were leaked photos of the entire modem. The only aspect that is much awaited by fans now is its power to play games. The PS4, however, is not expected until November. This is the same month its rival, Microsoft, will release their newest console. It still works on games that are sold in a compact disc in the market. There were no major changes to the way it exposes the games but there are developments that are definitely worth the long wait.More Info...

The Nintendo Wii U is a whole different ball game when it comes to gaming. Just about everything has been improved, changed, or expanded in some way, mostly for the better.
The most obvious change is the new controller for the Wii U. It is kept simple, with the standard d-pad and 4 buttons with two bumpers configuration, we have all come to know and love. Near the left and right bumpers are two analogue sticks, which allow for finer motion controls in game mode that the d-pad could never achieve.
The touchscreen placed right in the centre of the controller is an interesting addition that works well with many games. If this wasn't enough, the Wii U controller is also packed with motion controls that work equally well as the standard Wii.
